Day 1: ARRIVAL  In the city of Tours  (from Paris, 50 minutes, city of Tours, TGV station). Welcoming of our hosts. Country drive to the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud. You take possession of your room. The 4 **** Fontevraud  Hotel will be your residence for the duration of your stay. Aperitif at the Ibar with hors d’oeuvres. Review of the tour schedule and options. Gourmet diner at the Fontevraud one star Michelin restaurant, Chef Thibaut Ruggeri, Bocuse d’or,  including two glasses of Loire Valley wine. After diner, guided, night visit of Fontevraud Abbey. with our special dedicated Fontevraud escort. Meet our hosts Aliènor of Aquitaine and Richard, Lion Heart. The Abbey is your new home, you can explore any part of the Abbey buildings, gardens, and grounds, 14 acres of closed walls.

Day 2:  Breakfast. AM Visit of Montsoreau village, Loire river sailing on a traditional river flat boat.  Montsoreau,which is labelled one of the most beautiful village in France. We will wander in the narrow streets around the renaissance style castle. The village was made famous by the novel writen by Alexandre Dumas (father). Montsoreau is a UNESCO labeled village. We will then embark on a flat tradional Loire Valley River boat name: “Toue”. We will have lunch on the boat. In the afternoon, visit of  Villandry castle and gardens. In the evening, diner at Fontevraud restaurant by Chef Thibaut Ruggeri, Bocuse d’or 2013. One star-Michelin Restaurant.

Visit a Farmer's market in Saumur

Day: 3 AM

Lunch in the Monk dining room and cheese tasting

Visit of the Rocheville Winery
or the famous riding school "Cadre Noir"

Day 3:  Abbey de Fontevraud, Winery tour: Saumur-Champigny or Cadre Noire riding school visit. After Breakfast,  You will have the time to enjoy the grounds, cutural activities, Art exhibits at the Abbey, visit the different gardens, stroll in the village, and do your walking. You could also come visit a Farmer’s market in Saumur. Before lunch, we will have a wine and Loire Valley cheese pairing. Lunch will be served in the monk’s dining room in the abbey, 4 light dishes, including a glass of Loire Valley wine. PM  Choice A :Visit of the winery: Domaine de Rocheville ,in the appellation Saumur-Chamigny.Saumur-Chamigny is one of the best wines ellaborated with Cabernet Franc varietal. We will be welcomed by the wine maker and taste his wines paired with some gourmet bits. PM  Choice B:  Private visit of the famous military riding school “Cadre noir” in Saumur, this 19th century riding school received the label: World Cultural Heritage in 2011 from the UNESCO.  In the evening, diner at Fontevraud restaurant by Chef Thibaut Ruggeri, Bocuse d’or 2013, one star-Michelin restaurant.
